Section: Unidata IDV Workshop for version 7.0u1

This workshop and the associated materials are designed to give you an introduction to installing, using, and configuring the Integrated Data Viewer (IDV). Each section is designed to provide an overview of the topic covered with examples and exercises for you to complete. The conventions used in this document can be found here. Most of the datasets used in these exercises are accessible on remote servers. For accessing the local datasets, see Installing local datasets.

1	Overview of the Integrated Data Viewer This section provides an overview of the IDV, its purpose and its capabilities.
2	Starting the IDV/GUI Basics In this section, you will learn about starting the IDV from a command line and gain a basic understanding of the IDV Graphical User Interface (GUI).
3	Accessing and Displaying Data In this section, we will discuss the data selection process and how to load in most of the types of data that the IDV supports.
4	Advanced Topics This section will cover a variety of advanced topics within the IDV.
5	Java Developer Topics This section will cover a variety of topics for Java developers interested in using and extending the IDV.
6	IDV and RAMADDA RAMADDA is a web-based, comprehensive content repository, publishing platform and collaboration environment for the Earth Sciences. RAMADDA and the IDV are tightly integrated to provide IDV users the ability to share IDV bundles creating a scientific social and collaborative networks. In this section, we will be learning about how to configure and use RAMADDA.
