CASEMODE

Sets the case mode for entering McIDAS-X commands.

Formats

CASEMODE LIST
CASEMODE SWAP
CASEMODE NONE

Parameters

LIST

lists the current case-swap mode, either ON or OFF (default)

SWAP

sets the automatic case-swap mode to ON so text is automatically entered in uppercase; this is the default mode when starting McIDAS-X; see the Remarks

NONE

sets the automatic case-swap mode to OFF to make the Caps Lock indicator light correct

Remarks

The CASEMODE command automatically changes entered text to upper or lowercase.

By default, McIDAS-X is started in the SWAP mode since most McIDAS-X command names, parameters and keywords are typed in uppercase. Using the SWAP mode, you don't have to press the Caps Lock key when you first start McIDAS-X to switch to uppercase for typing McIDAS-X commands. However, it also makes the Caps Lock indicator light incorrect. If you enter the command CASEMODE NONE, text is automatically entered in lowercase and the Caps Lock indicator light is correct.

You can use the Shift or Caps Lock key to switch from lowercase to uppercase and vice versa without using the CASEMODE command.
