MCCompress

This keyword specifies the data compression method the ADDE remote server should use when sending the requested data to your workstation. The default (if you don't specify this keyword) is to use the method set in the MCCOMPRESS environment variable. See Using Compressed Data Transfers for more information.

MCC=

COMPRESS

requests a compressed data transfer using the Unix compress command

 

GZIP

requests a compressed data transfer using the Unix gzip command

 

NONE

requests a data transfer that is not compressed

Below is an example.

IMGDISP GOES/EAST 5 BAND=4 STA=KATL MCC=GZIP

This entry requests that the remote server use gzip to compress the specified image data, then send it to the client, which uses gunzip to uncompress it then displays it in frame 5.
