The Run Gemini feature sends a weather-analysis request to Google Gemini from inside the IDV. Select the View->RunGemini menu item. A dialog will popup where you can enter an instruction for the current view window image or select a prompt example and edit it according to the view weather maps contents. In the Gemini Agentic Vision - IDV Weather Analysis dialog. it attaches weather maps, combine with an instruction, and run a Gemini model on those images without leaving the application.

• Gemini Model Version
  The default is gemini-3.5-flash. For newer agentic work try gemini-3.7-flash.
• Reset Gemini Key
  You must enter your own Gemini API key. The IDV does not ship a shared key. Create a prepaid key in Google AI Studio and set up prepaid billing . Use Reset Gemini Key to enter or replace a stored key.
• Archive Weather Maps
  Select one or more archived weather-map images as example inputs. User can provide high quality and diverse examples (case studies) within the prompt. The Gemini uses these examples as a template and quick learning for its own response.
• Archived Analysis files
  Select the corresponding weather analysis files of archived weather maps as extra context. Provide examples of different weather scenarios (e.g., one with a strong winter storm, one with a calm high-pressure system).
• Master Prompt Examples
  Set of prompt examples with the quality and specificity of instructions to the model for different weather maps.
• History
  IDV saves a list of instruction prompts that have been used in the past.
• Clear History
  Remove saved instructions from the history list.
• Instruction for Gemini Agent
  Either select a master prompt and edit it or type an instruction according to the view window weather map.This is Required. Non-empty text is saved to history when you press OK.
• Knowledge Context
  Optional extra facts (knowledge, valid time, products) sent with the instruction.
